| March 1, 2002
We have just settled in at View Point RV Resort in Mesa. I haven't had time yet to investigate everything here, but I will give you a report soon. On initial inspection it looks great and I have a phone. Did you notice the new link at the top of this
page? Go ahead and click on it. It is something special.
The results of last month's survey:

If you think you know where we were please go
to our Guess
Page and play the game.
March 2, 2002 I have spent this morning and half of the afternoon going over each and every link in our links page to make sure they are working and I have deleted the ones which seemed dead. If you visit a site that you like and notice that we are not linked to it, please let us know. There is a lot of good information out there and we want to have it all on our site. Thanks. March 4 When it rains it pours. We got bad news on Saturday. A dear niece in her early 20's committed suicide. We are flying to Michigan tomorrow (Tuesday) and will attend her funeral then stay a while longer to be with Ron's kids who, as I mentioned last month, are having a tough time with their mother dying. We actually expect that we will attend two funerals while we are back. I will not be taking the lap top so email will stack up. Thanks for your understanding. By the way, Ron has a temporary fix to his broken tooth (see last month) and we know the reason for his passing out. It was his sugar which had been under control (with medications) before the Weight Watchers weight loss. We then dropped one of the medications when his sugar fell naturally with good eating habits, but it appears that we dropped the wrong medication by not consulting a doctor. Take a lesson from us. We are not doctors and therefore should not play like we are. I will report in when we get back to Arizona.
It should be about a week.
March 12 We are back. We arrived at home at about 6:30 last night and it sure was great to be home. We love our home especially when it is in sunny, warm Arizona. The funeral was very sad but we were very glad to be there. Then we spent four days with Ron's kids in Lansing which we all appreciated. Martha (their mother) is a very strong and determined person; she is not going to die anytime soon. The kids are all handling this very well too so we decided that we didn't need to be there any longer. Thank you for your kind thoughts. We experienced cold like we hadn't felt in a long
time. On Sunday the high was 16 with a wind chill of -1 and blowing snow.
I know that for some of you that's nothing, but our bodies aren't used
to much below 40. It was the grey skies, bare trees, dirty snow, frosty
windshields and cold that reminded us of why we live like we do. We could
never live in Michigan year round again.

In our mail today we got our copy of a wonderfully charming, amusing and enlightening book on full-time RVing. If you are like us you want every book available on the subject of full-timing. Be sure to order Steeles on Wheels---A Year on the Road in an RV. If you click on the picture it will take you to Amazon.com's page for this book.
March 15 We just received the schedule of classes and the list of instructors for this summer's Life on Wheels Conference and we are very excited about the fact that we will be doing 7 seminars there. We sure hope you are planning on attending. You will have a wonderful time. It is not too late to sign up. Click here to see the schedule. March 18 I just added a map at the end of this page that shows where we have traveled over the last year. I will add to it as we move on down the road. You can always read the details in the Old News pages. Just click on the map to get there. Yesterday was the 13th anniversary of Ron's retirement
and in two weeks we will celebrate the end of our 13th year on the road.
Isn't that amazing?
March 25 We are gradually getting things done here. We have accomplished a lot between dentists, doctors, lab and Xray, hair cuts and I am so excited to have an appointment to get a perm with the best hairdresser in the world. At least she is great for me. We have also enjoyed eating out at some of our favorite places here, seeing movies at Harkins 24 which is a wonderful theater, shopping at familiar malls and grocery stores and I got some clothing altered at James, the Taylor (he is super) and got some dry cleaning done at the dry cleaners we have trusted before. We even got the pick up washed to the tune of $989.00. Not really, but after we had the front brakes, tune up and other stuff done that is what it cost; they threw in the car wash. I know, it is an old car and everyone wonders why we don't just get something new but after 11 years we have grown accustomed to it and it still runs great. It only has 220,000 miles on it. It really is a great tow car. We can rent a nice car anytime and that is cheaper than buying a new one. I tried to update the Places section of this site but that will always be an on going job. For the rest of this week (off and on) I will be working on the usual updates that we post on April 1. I promise I won't play a joke on you. Do any of you have a question that you would like
me to survey in the quizlett? Please let me know because it is nearly time
to change that too.
