What's New from November 2003

November 1, 2003
It was startling to write the date above. Gosh, the year is almost over. We have some exciting news for all of you. Because Movin' On was published in 1999 we often get asked if the finance section is out dated. It really isn't but to further help folks understand the finances of full-timing we just finished putting together a 16 page supplement to the book. Starting immediately it will go out with our books which are ordered from Half.comand as soon as the current supply of books at Amazon.com are exhausted the supplement will be included with books sold there.

What's in the supplement? A complete and current update on the finances of full-timing and an update on some of the high tech things available to full-timers. If you recently got our book and want this update we will send it to you (first class mail) for free but we need to ask that you pay for the postage and handling. If interested in this supplement, please send $1.00 (just throw a buck in an envelope) to:

What is a Full-timer? is my new article. Ron hasn't written his article yet. I will post it later.
I am working on the next old newsletter story which will be from May of 1996. Check back in a few days.

New Mystery Picture
I can't believe so few even tried to guess last month's picture. Of the few who guessed only 50% had it right.  If you'd like to see how well you might guess on this picture or any of our mystery pictures please go to our Guess Page.

I just added Ron's article for this month and think you will like it. Mobility---It's Wonderful has been posted.

November 14
I have just added another of our old newsletter stories. May 1996 covers our trip north from Texas as far as Missouri with some interesting stops along the way. I hope you enjoy it.

November 16
The computer gremlins are at work. Aparently there is a glitch somewhere in the May 1996 old newsletter story and some of you may see long spread out lines. It looks fine in Netscape and in Internet Explorer on my laptop with the 800 X 600 setting but on my PC at the same setting in IE it looks bad. I have worked for hours on trying to fix the problem and am giving up for the night. I will try again tomorrow. In the mean time if you have Netscape try that or set your resolution to a higher number like 1024. Sorry!!!

November 17
The problem with the May 1996 page had been fixed.

November 24
I just sent out the following email to almost everyone on our email update list. Somehow halfway through adding all my addresses, a computer gremlin messed everything up. So if you didn't get your November mini update here it is.

Hi Everyone,
I am happy to report that for the first time in almost 10 years we will be presenting seminars in this area that will be open to the general public. We will be doing our two most popular seminars on Saturday, January 24, 2004 out here in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Both seminars are totally free and will be held at Canyon Vistas RV Park in Gold Canyon, Arizona (near where we live). The RV Resort is on the south side of U.S.60 right after you enter Gold Canyon (coming from the West). It is only a few feet after the first stop light you will encounter on 60. There is a huge American Flag flying at the entrance.

Our full-timing seminar will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m.. We will break for lunch (more about that in a minute) and the Finances of Full-timing seminar will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

The resort is planning some sort of a BBQ offering for lunch or just across the street from the resort is a Jack in the Box and a Subway. Less than a mile away at the next light is a Mc Donalds. No one should go hungry.

Mark your calendars. Canyon Vistas would like to know how many to prepare for and we would appreciate it if you could email us to let us know if you can come. If you have friends who will be in the area please feel free to pass on the news. Everyone is welcome to simply come for the day or there are plenty of spaces available in the resort if you'd like to stay there for a day or two. To reserve a campsite there (if you plan to stay over night or longer) call their toll free number which is 888-940-8989 or if you are in the Phoenix area you may call their local number 480-288-8844.

We have been very busy with activities here. Did I tell you that I am busy rehearsing for my part in a play that is being presented by our theater group here at Mountainbrook? Caught in the Villain's Web is a fun melodrama that will be presented February 19, 20, 21 and 22. If you will be in the area and would like tickets please let me know.

Ron has been volunteering at the elementary school he spent a lot of time with before and just loves it.

We added ceramic tile in the entrance, hall way and kitchen and continue to shop for paintings and things with which to decorate our house. Ron keeps saying that it was easier to live in a motorhome, but we do love it here.

We have also been getting check ups, and play a lot of bridge.

We are sending our warmest wishes for a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope to see many of you in January at our seminar.
